Job Summary:                      
The Program Support Specialist supports the Program Manager in providing direct support to individuals receiving Adult Day Services while serving as a mentor and resource for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). This position spends the majority of time actively supporting individuals, maintaining staffing ratios, modeling best practices, and ensuring high-quality, person-centered services.
The Program Support Specialist works alongside DSP staff to promote community inclusion, independence, choice, and meaningful daily experiences while assisting the Program Manager with daily program operations, staff development, documentation, and regulatory compliance. This role serves as a bridge between frontline staff and program leadership by providing coaching, guidance, and day-to-day operational support.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and implementing person-centered schedules and activities that promote community integration, skill development, and social engagement.
  • Coordinate daily program operations including transportation scheduling, and coverage for DSPs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in Therap, including Service Plans and progress notes.
  • Support quality assurance and safety initiatives; ensure that all fire, evacuation, and emergency drills are conducted and documented.
  • Track and complete billing for attendance and transportation; ensure timely and accurate data entry.
  • Maintain program supplies, equipment, report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Monitor individuals attendance and engagement, identifying any barriers to participation or areas for support.
  • Inform the Program Manager of any situations requiring supervisory attention, including incidents, behavioral concerns, or staffing issues.
Staff Support & Leadership
  • Provide mentorship, training, and on-the-job coaching to DSPs to ensure high-quality, person-centered service delivery.
  • Support new staff onboarding and competency development in collaboration with the Program Manager.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
  • Model effective communication, professionalism, and adherence to Laradon’s mission and values.
  • Step into direct support roles as needed to ensure participant safety and program continuity.
Other Duties
  • Participate in organizational meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support program success.

Minimum Training/Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • 3 or more years of direct experience with working Individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate patience, flexibility, confidentially, and strong communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Must be able to lift and transfer individuals served into Laradon vehicles.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full workdays.
