Schedule:                                 Part-time, Wednesday-Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM (24 hours per week)

Job Summary:     

                        
The Campus Welcome Assistant is the first person visitors see when they arrive at Laradon and plays an important role in creating a welcoming and professional first impression. This position is responsible for greeting and assisting visitors, directing them to the appropriate person or department, and helping ensure the front office operates smoothly and efficiently. You will also support teams across the administration building, including Marketing & Communications, Philanthropy, Administration, Finance, Human Resources (HR), IT, and Maintenance and Transportation. You will help with training and onboarding tasks, office supply stocking, and everyday admin support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Reception & Front Desk
  • Serve as the primary receptionist and first point of contact for visitors, families, vendors, and community members.
  • Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls to the appropriate staff member or department.
  • Take and relay routine messages when appropriate.
  • Notify staff when visitors arrive.
  • Provide basic information and directions to visitors and callers.
  • Maintain a welcoming, clean, and organized reception area.
  • Monitor the front desk and request assistance from a supervisor or appropriate staff member when a question or situation falls outside the scope of the position.
B. Mail, Packages, and Supplies
  • Receive and sign for deliveries.
  • Sort mail and notify the correct person/department.
  • Keep important forms and office supplies stocked and ready.
  • Notify Communications of any donations that are received.
C. Office Equipment
  • Perform basic upkeep on office machines like copiers, printers, and postage equipment.
  • Notify supervisor of equipment needing repairs.
D. Training and Onboarding Support
  • Help prepare packets, schedules, and materials for new employee orientation.
  • Assist with setting up rooms and printing materials for training sessions.
  • Help new employees check in and find what they need on their first day.
  • Support staff with other onboarding and training tasks as needed.
E. Admin Building Support
  • Help departments across the admin building with simple office tasks.
  • This includes teams in Marketing & Communications, Philanthropy, Administration, Finance, HR, IT, and Maintenance/Transportation.
  • Tasks may include: copying, scanning, filing, scheduling meeting rooms, and preparing materials.
  • Help with data entry into spreadsheets and tracking systems.
  • Assist with printing badges and preparing basic forms.
  • Help with campus-wide notices or communications as directed.
F. Other Tasks
  • Complete other duties assigned by your supervisor.
  • Attend required Laradon trainings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Good people and communication skills
  • Able to use a computer for basic tasks like email and data entry
  • Dependable — shows up on time and follows through on tasks

Physical Requirements

This job requires you to be able to do the following:
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch during the workday
  • Be on your feet and active for the full work shift
  • Speak clearly so others can hear and understand you
